CoachAmoo: Going Viral on TikTok Through Fitness Education

Amori, aka CoachAmoo, is 26 and his story is kind of wild. He was a law student who burned out during his Master's. He dropped everything, got his coaching certification in 10 months, and started working full-time at a small neighborhood gym. On the side, he was posting on TikTok. In one year he went from zero to 130,000 followers. The craziest part is that 90,000 of those came in a single month from one 15-second video.

What's interesting about his approach is that Amori bets everything on education. He doesn't have the biggest physique, he doesn't have the longest resume. But he understood that the real value on social media is explaining things simply. And that changes everything.

What you'll learn in this episode

  • Start on TikTok to test without the pressure

Amori picked TikTok as his first platform because he saw it as "less serious" than Instagram. And that's exactly why it was perfect for testing. TikTok's algorithm doesn't care how many followers you have: if the video's good, it can hit 500,000 views even if you've got 200 followers. So he spent 8 months posting on TikTok to find his rhythm before moving to Instagram. It's a smart play because you get to find your voice without the pressure of an audience judging every post.

  • Education is what set him apart from everyone else

Amori kept seeing credentialed people deliberately making things confusing to look smarter and get more engagement. They'd overcomplicate things on purpose to seem more credible. He wanted to do the exact opposite: take complex concepts and make them accessible to everyone. On social media, the most impressive physique doesn't win. The person who can break things down the best does.

  • Keeping up the pace is the real fight

For a full year, Amori posted 2 videos a day on TikTok. Two videos a day, while working 35 hours a week at his gym job. For the past two years he's dialed it back to one a day, but the rhythm is still intense. His secret is simple: never stop, even when growth flatlines for weeks. Because here's the thing with social media: your next video could change everything overnight.

  • Every single video is scripted, even the ones that look "spontaneous"

Amori gets his topics from three places: story Q&As, problems that keep coming up in client check-ins, and recurring DMs. For every video he writes out a full script, reads it off his computer while filming, and keeps the editing simple with just subtitles. It looks natural, but it's all prepared. And that's exactly why every video is clear and gets straight to the point.

  • He's the same person online and offline

His friends tell him he's "the same guy" on social media as he is in real life. And for him, that's the best compliment anyone could give. His early followers showed up for his honesty and genuine warmth, not for some character he built. It's harder to build that way at the start, but it's way more solid in the long run.

"It wasn't confidence that pushed me. It was frustration with everything I saw out there."

"In one month I gained 90,000 followers. On the morning of my birthday I was at 40,000, and a month later we hit 130,000."
